See what our clients are saying about us!

If you're like me, when a retreat is scheduled, you block it off on your calendar and immediately start to dread it, imagining it to be a variation of the same combination of recent business/pop psychology, team building, and personality profiling that you've experienced all along. However, the services Teibel Education provides are different. A partnership with them will transform the way you approach your work. Teibel Education helps you cultivate practices and understanding that allow you to meet challenging relationships and partnerships with greater ease and clarity. That's what leadership demands these days! I wholeheartedly endorse their work to any organization in which teamwork and partnerships are linked with success.

Vice President for Strategy and Development

Teibel Education’s program was a resounding success. To their credit, members of our team came into the two days sessions with open minds and a willingness to contribute – both as talkers and as active listeners – that exceeded even my high expectations. After two hard days of work, we came away having articulated a vision, a mission and a preliminary set of objectives for our division – a much richer “product” than I had expected. At this point, Teibel Education is working with me as something of a coach as I consider how to sustain the forward momentum and feed the results of our retreat into the incipient campus-wide strategic planning process.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

Teibel Education presented to the ISAS Division Heads at their annual June meeting. They worked with us in advance to get input for the session from the audience and delivered the promised content. They were very involved throughout the planning process, and extremely receptive and insightful. They understood the need of conference attendees to experience a presentation rather than to listen to one. It was a pleasure to work with them. The participants overwhelmingly found the presentation relevant and rated them highly on the quality of learning and style of delivery. We would definitely recommend to other organizations.

Director of Program and Professional Development

Please find below my endorsement of Teibel Education Consulting, who served as a key architect and advisor during the preliminary phases of Loyola University Maryland's recent self-assessment and sustainability initiative, A New Way of Proceeding. That effort, focused on identifying opportunities for increased operational efficiencies and strategic resource re-allocation, led to numerous new initiatives at Loyola that have helped the University to better position itself within today's complex higher-education landscape.

As a consultant during the first phases of this exercise, Teibel offered terrific perspective and brought a wealth of expertise, helping the University to craft "authentically Loyola" solutions to the administrative and operational concerns that drove this self-assessment. Their subtle, behind-the-scenes, guidance allowed all University stakeholders to feel invested in, and integral, to the process. Further, Howard's ability to incorporate external inputs and his broad professional experience into his consultancy helped the University to better understand the myriad externalities that meaningfully impact contemporary universities.

In no small part due to Teibel’s early-stage guidance, the University has recognized significant gains within its competitive marketplace and implemented a range of advantageous operational and sustainability efforts, while enjoying both increased revenue and decreased expenditures. As Loyola's efforts on these fronts continue, the University today still enjoys the benefits of Teibel's consultancy.

Loyola University Maryland recently embarked upon an initiative entitled “New Way of Proceeding” which called upon the university to seek new ways to generate revenue, reduce costs and increase our competitiveness in the market.  Teibel worked with our leadership team from the outset and provided critical guidance in the planning, communication, and implementation phases of the initiative.  Through the process that we worked on with Teibel, we were able save millions of dollars and uncover initiatives that will help us generate new revenues.  This initiative would not have been nearly as successful were it not for the guidance and advice that was provided by Howard and his colleagues at Teibel.  Howard brought to the table firsthand expertise, having worked on similar projects in the past, but allowed our initiative to be true to our culture and tailored to our specific needs.  Teibel Education Consulting became an invaluable member of our team and added tremendous value to an initiative that has created significant and positive change at Loyola.

Senior Vice President

Our College of Business recently tasked itself with recreating its strategic plan from the ground up – a process that engaged faculty, staff, students, advisory boards, and other stakeholders. We also needed it completed on a tight timetable, making it an especially daunting task.

On the recommendation of a trusted academic colleague, we chose Teibel Education to partner with us on this initiative. Howard and his team were fantastic. They worked with us to set up a detailed project timetable and deliverables at the various stages and kept us on task to meet our deadlines. Teibel expertly managed our faculty and staff during several strategic planning retreats, after which the pillars of our strategic plan came into focus.

This process was a complete success. We now have a completed strategic plan, two new Centers within our college to implement our strategic initiatives, and significant external funding coming in to support the activities of the Centers. Things have never looked more promising in our college!

Dean

The Northwest School is at a pivotal moment in its relatively short (35-year) history, with founding faculty retiring, a head entering his fourth year, a largely new administrative team, and significant changes to its schedule — with all that implies — imminent.

Having seen Teibel present several times to large groups (including at NBOA and a couple of different NWAIS conferences), we asked Howard to join the full faculty at its annual August retreat just prior to the start of school to facilitate a discussion about institutional change — and individual reactions to it. He was terrific.

Confronted with some challenging moments early in the day, he deftly (and humorously) defused what could have devolved into an unproductive venting session. He was thoroughly prepared for the two sessions he ran, but also nimble enough to alter the agenda in response to the direction of the conversation and needs of the audience. If you're contemplating work with groups of any size — boards, administrators, faculty — particularly around change, and are looking for an outside facilitator, Howard is very skilled.

Head of School

Gettysburg College recently had the opportunity to work with Teibel Education Consulting on our Sustainable Excellence initiative, an institution wide self-review of operational efficiency and effectiveness. Having an outside expert to facilitate this process was a huge bonus. Teibel Education brought the experience and perspective that we needed to help us move through this process much more efficiently than we otherwise would have. We will have significant savings as a result of this initiative.
